Reflecting on Art Club 2025

by Sebastian Deregibus

Thinking about this past year, McGolrick Art Club brings a smile to my face because we were able to organize an engaging and proactive artistic activity in our beloved park and its community. That is to say, a social and creative event that gave participating artists the opportunity to absorb and express the beauty of McGolrick Park across three different seasons.

People of all ages and walks of life attended; some with experience, some with none, but they all took time and put in effort to execute their artwork outdoors. The most special part for me has always been the "show and tell" part of Art Club, when we all gathered around a table and showed our work, hearing people recount their intentions, experience, and ultimate results.

The cold winter months are no excuse for not making art, this time can be used to practice all mediums. From photographs or from still life indoors, keep honing those artistic chops.

I look forward to continuing to grow Art Club and its artistic community in 2026.

Sincerely thankful to Janine, Jodie and everyone else at Friends of McGolrick for all that you do and for letting me be a part of it. My family and I truly appreciate it.
